WHY VINTAGE MATTERS
 

The key difference between vintage and modern re-sale in the “circular” economy is that vintage items are 20+ years old, meaning there is no recent impact from production on these items.
While it is always better to purchase pre-loved items in general, consider that retailer buy-back or recycling programs aren’t actually reducing production levels or total environmental footprint.  It is also debatable if large resale platforms actually help with conscious purchasing. In many perspectives, they enable consumer behavior by offering a guilt-free way to buy more, knowing that they can re-sell when they want something new.

RESTORATION AND REPAIR
 
We believe in honoring the designer history of the pieces we choose. Rather than pass off or discard items that are less than perfect, we do our utmost to clean, mend, and restore pieces to the most beautiful condition possible. 
This movement is about working with what we have rather than constantly seeking what’s new. So we urge our customers to treat their own items in the same way. 




SHIPPING AND MATERIALS 
 
We consider all parts of the process for sustainability right down to our packaging materials.
Our Kraft mailers are made of recycled and biodegradable material, our boxes are made of recycled cardboard, and we often reuse shipping boxes. Our packing tape is plant-based and biodegradable. Our interior packaging is recycled tissue along with brand stickers that are both biodegradable and come on a recyclable backing.
